Cedar Rapids man charged with marijuana possession

Authorities have accused a Cedar Rapids man of possessing marijuana.

Dakota Gladwin, 18, was charged Dec. 1 with possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest affidavit, Gladwin was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped by officers because of an equipment violation. Officers reported they noticed the smell of marijuana in the vehicle.

When asked about the odor, the affidavit said, Gladwin admitted that there was marijuana in the vehicle. Officers initiated a probable cause search, during which they found a large amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Possession of a controlled substance is a Class-D felony.
