Hawkeye football headed to Outback Bowl

Iowa will take on No. 18 Mississippi State in the Outback Bowl.

For the third time in six seasons, Iowa football is traveling to Tampa, Florida, for the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1.

The Hawkeyes (8-4) will take on No. 18 Mississippi State (8-4). The Bulldogs are led by dual-threat quarterback Nick Fitzgerald. He’s thrown for 1,615 yards and 15 touchdowns while accounting for 1,018 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

At 4:30 on Sunday, head coach Kirk Ferentz and UI Athletic Director Gary Barta will take to the podium for a press conference on Iowa’s bowl game. Follow @dipregame on Twitter for live updates.
