A second woman, Lindsey Beyer, 24, was arrested on Oct. 3 and charged with accessory to a felony, reportedly in connection with an early morning shooting that occurred on Sept. 29 near the intersection of Court and Gilbert Streets, according to an Iowa City press release.

Arielle Grier, 24, was the first person arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder and reckless use of a firearm.

According to a police report, Beyer, who is reportedly Grier’s girlfriend, told officers on Oct. 3 Grier was not in their apartment, but surveillance revealed that Beyer had lied to police about Grier being inside.

The investigation showed that Grier had gone to the apartment after the Sept. 29 incident.

A police report said surveillance footage from the incident shows Grier and her brother arguing with three men on the 300 block of East Court Street (between Linn and Gilbert Streets). The three men walked away, and Grier and her brother apparently chased and attacked the men. Grier reportedly pulled out her gun and fired six shots, shooting one of the men and accidentally shooting her brother twice.

The report states that the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with more information should contact the Iowa City police.
