The Iowa City Fire Department responded to a call of a mail truck catching fire on N. First Avenue at 2:45 p.m Monday. There were no injuries or damages.

Iowa City Fire Marshal Brian Greer said the postal worker driving the vehicle noticed smoke coming out of the front. The postal worker maneuvered the truck into the street and got all the mail out before it caught on fire.

Greer said the fire is believed to have started in the engine compartment.
