Former University of Iowa wrestler Trevor Graves was sentenced Thursday to four months in prison after pleading guilty to unauthorized access and damage to the UI computer network, U.S. attorney Marc Krickbaum announced.

Graves pleaded guilty in April to knowingly accessing the ICON computer network from May 2015 to Nov. 15, 2016 with a key logger device to obtain professors’ access information and delete or change student grades for himself and five other students.

The costs to the UI associated with the investigation, response to the discovery of the network breach, and steps taken to update security amounted to approximately $67,900.

The FBI, UI Department of Public Safety, and UI Information Services Technology conducted the investigation. The U.S. States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa prosecuted the case.
