Man faces domestic-abuse charge

A warrant is out for an Iowa City man wanted on suspicion of domestic abuse.

Authorities have charged Quentin Johnson, 35, 1896 N. Dubuque Road, with  domestic abuse/assault for the fifth time since 2004. According to an affidavit, a woman told officers Johnson had become hostile and argumentative with her at a house. She escaped through the garage with her 4-year-old daughter, but Johnson chased them, the affidavit said.

Third or subsequent domestic abuse/assault is a Class-D felony.

 

Local man wanted in robbery

Authorities have requested a warrant for a man wanted on suspicion of robbery in Iowa City.

Ricky Johnson, 27, address unknown, was charged with second-degree robbery occurring on May 1. According to an affidavit, a man withdrew $500 from an ATM shortly before midnight and walked back to his apartment building, where Johnson confronted him and demanded the money. When the man refused, the affidavit said, Johnson pushed him to the ground, took the cash from his pocket, and fled, leaving the man with a cut on his mouth requiring stitches.

Second-degree robbery is a Class-C felony.
