Body found in Iowa River

Authorities recovered a body from the Iowa River on July 17.

Personnel from the Iowa City police, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, and Iowa State Patrol pulled up on the Burlington Street Bridge around 12:30 p.m. Medical personnel soon followed.

As Sheriff’s Office boats entered the river, a body could be seen floating in the water.

The dead body was an adult male, but has yet to be identified.
