Iowa City Police look into rideshare incident

From a post on social media, the Iowa City Police Department heard of a suspicious incident involving a rideshare incident, according to a press release from the City of Iowa City.

The victim said a driver drove up to her and told her he was her Uber driver, the press release said. When questioned for information only drivers would know, the release said, the driver couldn’t provide answers.

The man went up to others and claimed to be their driver, the release said.

The suspect was described as a black man around six feet tall, the release said, and her had an earring. He is thought to be in his early or mid-20s.

The suspect’s vehicle is black, the release said, but no other details have been given at this time.

The Iowa City Police Department said in the release to contact officers as soon as you see a similar situation.
