Manuel Trevizo, 1132 Ash St., was charged Feb. 10 with child endangerment resulting in bodily injury and assault with intent to inflict serious injury.

According to the arrest affidavit, the child’s mother called officers after Trevizo attacked the child and punched him in the head multiple times. The child is eight years old.

Officer observed that Trevizo was intoxicated when they arrived, the affidavit said, and Trevizo told them “nothing was happening.”

Trevizo denied assaulting the child, the affidavit said, but the child and his mother both described the incident, their accounts matching.

The child had an injury on his forehead, the affidavit said, and the child, his mother, and his sister were scared after the incident.

The affidavit said Trevizo “should have reasonably known” he would cause the child harm.

Child endangerment is a Class-D felony.
