Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of an Iowa City man suspected of theft.

James Dobbins, 28, 2250 Taylor Drive, is wanted in connection with a second-degree theft on Nov. 20, 2017.

According to the affidavit, officers were told a man was looking in windows around the area of 700 E. Washington St. on Nov. 20. Dobbins was found in this area, the affidavit said, and he matched the description officers had been given.

Dobbins had a bag that did not belong to him when found, the affidavit said, and it was taken as evidence. The owner of the bag told officers the bag was inside his vehicle when it was taken overnight, the affidavit said.

The owner identified the bag and its contents as his, the affidavit said. The items inside the bag cost more than $1,000.

Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
