Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of a Coralville man on a robbery charge.

Ali Ali, 21, is suspected of first-degree robbery occurring on Nov. 13.

According to the affidavit, the victim told officers a man grabbed his wallet and ran, and when the victim pursued him, the man pointed a handgun at the victim.

A half an hour later, the affidavit said, the victim’s credit cards were used at Kum and Go and Walgreens. Both businesses have security footage of a man buying things that match the description the victim gave officers, the affidavit said.

Ali was arrested for an unrelated incident soon after the robbery at Hy-Vee, the affidavit said, and the security footage at Kum and Go and Walgreens matched Ali.

When arrested, the affidavit said, officers found Ali’s ID, the robbery victim’s driver’s license, and the stolen credit cards on Ali.

First-degree robbery is a Class-B felony.
