Daily Iowan football editor Courtney Baumann caught up with Iowa defensive end Parker Hesse, a junior from Waukon.

Daily Iowan: What’s your favorite home-cooked meal?

Parker Hesse: My mom is a very good cook. I know everyone says that but my mom actually is. I would have to say that her chili is unbelievable.

DI: What’s the most used app on your phone?

Hesse: Apple Music.

DI: What’s your favorite non-football memory?

Hesse: I just have a lot of fun hanging out with my friends. I wouldn’t say there’s one great time. In my time off, just going out to eat, movies with them is so much fun. When I think back on great memories, that’s what I’m going to think of.

DI: What’s your favorite place that you’ve ever been?

Hesse: Kinnick Stadium is pretty special.

DI: What’s your last binge-watch?

Hesse: I’ve been watching “Eastbound & Down” on HBO Go. I watched that in like, a day.

DI: What’s your dream vehicle?

Hesse: Does everyone have a dream vehicle? We’ll see what type of job I have. My moped works fine right now.

RELATED: Finally, kickoff nears

DI: Who was the first person you became friends with on the team?

Hesse: Brandon Snyder was my roommate freshman year. Sam Brincks was someone I knew from high school, too.

DI: Avengers or Justice League?

Hesse: I’m not into superhero movies.

DI: What’s your favorite game that you’ve played in?

Hesse: Purdue, here, two years ago when we clinched the West. Then after that when we beat Nebraska in Lincoln. Michigan, too, last year.

DI: Other than football, what would the plot of a movie of your life be about?

Hesse: It depends on what career I go into, because I’m still figuring that out. I’d say it’s the day I figure out what I want to do, or what I’m passionate about. Right now, that’s football. But that’s going to shift one day. Football’s going to be over. So I think it’s whenever I find out what the next thing is for me that I can really care about and put my all into.
