Glass was found in the public swimming pool at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center, which caused the facility to close for a week.

The pool is being drained and refilled after all the glass is removed.

“Glass in the pool can be dangerous,” associate director of aquatics Phil Julson said. “People possibly ingesting glass, or getting glass in their eye, or various other things. So the safest procedure for us is to drain the pool and clean it to get all the glass out of the pool.”

The problem will be solved, and the pool reopened Friday.

Meanwhile, swimming students have moved their activities to the pool at the Field House.
