Iowa City man charged with OWI

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man with driving while intoxicated.

Troy Perkins, 54, was charged with third-offense OWI on March 12.

According to online court documents, an officer observed a gray Volvo V90 complete a turn and swerve before turning into the proper lane.

The vehicle continued to swerve and was soon pulled over.

Perkins allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol and smelled of ingested alcohol. He also had slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes.

He refused sobriety tests.

Third-offense OWI is a Class-D felony.
