Iowa City man and woman charged with jewelry theft from residence

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man and woman of stealing jewelry.

John Bollinger-Orr, 21, and Raichel Stewart, 21 were both charged with second-degree theft on Jan. 15.

According to online court documents, Bollinger-Orr and Stewart went to a person’s apartment and took 11 pieces of jewelry valuing approximately $5,000 while that person was out of state.

Bollinger-Orr had access to the apartment because he was supposed to be looking after the person’s cat.

They sold the jewelry for a total of $524 at Money and More, and there is video surveillance of them selling the items.

Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
