Man charged with selling meth near school

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man of possession of methamphetamine.

Dennis Delaney, 46, was charged with controlled-substance violation on Feb. 2.

According to online court documents, officers completed a controlled purchase of one gram of meth from Delaney near his residence, which is 1,000 feet from an elementary school.

Officers then tested the substance to ensure it was meth. Once it was confirmed, a search warrant was acquired, and officers reportedly found two large bags of white residue.

The residue tested positive for meth.

Controlled-substance violation is a Class-C felony.
