Men’s tennis completes Big Ten Singles/Doubles

The Iowa men’s tennis team traveled to Minneapolis over the weekend for the Big Ten Singles/ Doubles Tournament, giving it its first taste of the conference opponents they will face in the spring.

Senior Matt Hagan and junior Dominic Patrick were the highlight of the tournament for the Hawkeyes, taking home the doubles championship by defeating Harry Jadun and John Patrick Mullane of Michigan State, 8-4.

Hagan and freshman Lefteris Theodorou played into the singles main draw round of 16, and Patrick advanced to the quarterfinals.

Freshman Josh Silverstein advanced to the singles main draw semifinals on Monday, where he fell in consecutive sets to Minnesota’s Felix Corwin.

Silverstein also had success in doubles with freshman Jake Jacoby, as the two reached the Round of 16 in the main draw.
