Man charged with stealing items

Authorities have accused an Iowa City man of breaking into a woman’s home and stealing the contents of her purse.

Jovan Trice, 18, was charged with second-degree burglary on May 3.

According to online court documents, Trice broke into a woman’s home at about 2 a.m. The woman heard noises coming from her living room and saw that there was an unknown male in her apartment.

Once Trice saw the woman, he motioned to another person and left the apartment.

Upon later inspection, the victim noticed her Nintendo Wii was out of place, and the contents of her purse were missing.

Trice and another male were located a few blocks away. The contents of the victim’s purse were located in a yard near Trice, and the other male’s fingerprints were located in the victim’s apartment.

Second-degree burglary is a Class-C felony.
