The Iowa City police will add another “fat” bike to its fleet.
The bicycle has oversized tires to allow officers to patrol during the winter months. The department purchased the bike using asset forfeiture funds.
The bike provides more stability and traction on snow and ice. The bike, a Salsa Cycles Mukluk 3, will be used on patrol in the Iowa City Downtown District.
