Iowa City man allegedly stole multiple electronics

An Iowa City man has been accused of stealing numerous electronic devices.

Mozell McKee, 19, was charged Nov. 10 with second-degree theft.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, an officer stopped a green Chevrolet Cavalier for speeding and got consent to search the vehicle, which McKee was driving.

The officer found three laptops, an iPhone, and an XBox 360 inside two black backpacks. When asked about this, McKee said he had found the backpacks on an unknown street.

Later that morning, officers took a burglary complaint from the same area. The victims positively identified the items McKee had taken as the ones that had been stolen from their house.

The items were valued at more than $1,000.

Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
