The new director of the Iowa Department of Education will speak at the University of Iowa on Wednesday about his goals for his new position.

Brad Buck will speak at 2 p.m. at the Teacher Leader Center in the Lindquist Center. Following his speech will be a question-and-answer session.

In a UI press release, College of Education interim Dean Nicholas Colangelo said he looks forward to Buck’s visit and future collaboration with education leaders at the UI.

“Those who know him describe him as a ‘doer’ and ‘collaborator,’ ” he said in the release.
