A local woman has been charged after allegedly stealing from numerous residences.

Teryn Netz, 26, was charged on July 25 with two counts of third-degree burglary, child endangerment, attempted third-degree burglary, second-degree theft, and fourth-degree theft.

According to a police complaint, Netz stole $300 worth of jewelry on June 21 from a home on Langenberg Avenue and sold some of it to a local gold-buying business. Officers were able to recover some of the items after the sale.

Netz allegedly broke into a home on Laurel Street on June 23 and stole several pieces of jewelry and resold them to a gold-buying business.

Officers responded to a call on June 25 about a woman attempting to break into a house on Keokuk Street. During the search of the area, the father of Netz’s children, Christopher Wright, was found. He was thought to be involved and was arrested. Officers later found Netz’s children at her known residence alone and unsupervised. Officers waited there to arrest her. Wright was also charged with child endangerment. Netz allegedly admitted to committing burglaries to support her addition to narcotics.

Fourth-degree theft is a serious misdemeanor. Third-degree burglary and second-degree theft are Class-D felonies. Attempted third-degree burglary and child endangerment are aggravated misdemeanors.
