Local woman charged for attacking another woman

An Iowa City woman has been charged after allegedly attacking another woman for “messing up” her home.

Lena Nguyen, 21, was charged on Sunday with assault causing bodily injury.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, the alleged victim was at Nguyen’s house when the latter became upset with her for messing up her house.

The victim offered to leave and as she was leaving Nguyen allegedly grabbed her by the hair, pulled her down, and “attacked” her.

Nguyen had to be restrained by her boyfriend before the two left the scene together.

The victim allegedly sustained lacerations on her right cheek, left side of her nose, and muscle damage to her neck and shoulders, requiring her to wear a neck brace, the complaint said.

Assault causing bodily injury is a serious misdemeanor.
