Woman found in possession of four stolen laptops and an Xbox

A local woman has been charged after allegedly being found in possession of four stolen laptops and an Xbox.

Madeline Sliger, 23, was charged with second-degree theft after officers said they had found her and codefendant Justin Self in possession of these items, which are valued at $4,700.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, the items were stolen during a residential burglary on May 17. Sliger and Self told officers they had bought the stolen items — which belong to three separate victims — from someone named “Kool-Aid” for $30 or $40 each, the complaint said.

Second-degree theft is a Class-D felony.
