A woman has been charged after striking and scratching a male companion.
Jennifer Barrientos, 24, was charged with domestic-abuse assault without intent causing injury.
According to an Iowa City police complaint, Barrientos was allegedly involved in a verbal altercation with a man when she struck him in the back. When the man attempted to restrain Barrientos, she scratched his face.
Barrientos and the man were reported to have been in a three and a half year relationship.
