Four Iowa City businesses cited after selling alcohol to minors

Barring appeals, several Iowa City businesses will have to pay a civil penalty of $500 after their employees were caught selling alcohol to minors.

Employees at Noodles and Company, Z’Mariks Noodle Cafe, Quinton’s Bar & Deli, and Thai Spice Restaurant were charged with having sold alcohol to a minor on or around March 14, according to the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division.

The businesses can appeal the decision within 30 days to the administrator of the Alcoholic Beverages Division.
