Man steals sewing machine, money, and a PlayStation

A local man was accused of stealing a sewing machine, money, and a PlayStation.

Earl McKee, 22, was charged April 1 with third-degree burglary and possession of marijuana.

Iowa City police officers responded to a 911 call that was hung up. When the police arrived at the residence, the female victim said McKee called her and told her he broke into her apartment and stole her sewing machine, money, and a PlayStation, the police complaint said.

The complaint said the woman gave police a description of McKee’s vehicle and his last known address. Officials located McKee and allegedly found the stolen property in his vehicle and in his residence. They also reportedly found a small bag of marijuana in the trunk of McKee’s vehicle, the complaint said.

Third-degree burglary is a Class-D felony. Possession of marijuana is a serious misdemeanor.
