Man found with multiple pounds of marijuana

A local man has been accused of possessing numerous pounds of marijuana and approximately $8,999.

Zachary Engle, 21, was charged May 21, 2012, with possession/delivery of marijuana, possession or distribution of a taxable substance without tax stamp, possession of controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Johnson County drug task officials assisted the U.S. Postal Service in a controlled delivery of a package contain marijuana on May 21, 2012, to Engle’s residence. Following the delivery, a search warrant was executed on Engle’s residence, the police complaint said.

During a search of Engle’s bedroom, investigators allegedly located numerous pounds of marijuana, packaging material, digital scales, controlled substance paraphernalia, and approximately $8,999.

Possession/delivery of marijuana is a class-D felony. Possession or distribution of a taxable substance without a tax stamp is a Class-D felony. Possession of a controlled substance is an aggravated misdemeanor. Possession of drug paraphernalia is a serious misdemeanor.
