A Coralville man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his mother in the shoulder.

Philippe Diamitani, 24, was charged Feb. 23 with domestic assault and willful injury.

Coralville police officials were dispatched to Diamitani’s residence for an unknown problem. During investigation, officials were told that Diamitani attacked his mother with a knife. He stabbed her left shoulder, and she sustained several cuts. She was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Domestic assault is a serious misdemeanor. Willful injury is a Class-C felony.
