Man accused of assaulting victim with pool cue

An Oxford man has been accused of assaulting a man with a pool cue.

Leonard Fevold, 67, was charged Tuesday with assault causing bodily injury.

According to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office complaint, Fevold was a customer at Old Roy’s Bar, 110 W. Main St., and was participating in pool-league play. Two individuals got into an altercation that originated in the bar and continued to the men’s restroom.

When one of the men who was involved in the altercation left the restroom, Fevold allegedly struck him with a pool cue from behind. The victim continued to fight with the other man, but Fevold approached the victim once again and broke a cue over his head, the complaint said.

The victim had blood coming from his head and on his clothes, and there was also blood on the floor.

He was taken to the hospital to receive treatment, and Fevold left the scene.

Later on, Fevold was identified by bar patrons and staff.

Assault causing bodily injury is a serious misdemeanor.
