Iowa law enforcement authorities receive more than $36K for body armor

Law-enforcement officials across eastern and southeastern Iowa will receive more than $36,000 through the U.S. Department of Justice Bulletproof Vest Partnership.

According to press release from Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa, the partnership provides funding to purchase body armor for local and state law-enforcement officers.

“It is vital that our law-enforcement officers have the safety equipment they need to protect themselves as they protect all of us,” Loebsack said in a release. “This lifesaving funding will allow our local law enforcement to purchase the state-of-the-art bulletproof vests our officers deserve.”

Some of the jurisdictions receiving the funding include Clinton County, Iowa City, Coralville, and Bettendorf.
