Local woman receives her third or subsequent OWI charge

A Cedar Rapids woman was accused of third-offense OWI.

Laura Lindquist, 43, Cedar Rapids, was charged July 12 with third-offense OWI.

According to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office complaint, an officer was following Lindquist’s vehicle and believed she hit a road barrier.

When the officer made contact with Lindquist and observed a strong odor of ingested alcohol and bloodshot, watery eyes. She provided a breath test of 0.194, the complaint said.

A third or subsequent OWI is considered a class-D felony.
