Councilors to vote on vacating air rights for Moen building

The Iowa City City Council will consider an ordinance July 10 vacating air rights in the public right-of-way located adjacent to 114 S. Dubuque St. — the site of developer Marc Moen’s planned 14-story building.

Approval of the ordinance would allow the applicant to acquire air rights for a section of public right-of-way on the Pedestrian Mall and a section of public right-of-way in Black Hawk Mini Park, according to city documents.

The council will vote on the second consideration of the ordinance at its next meeting, July 10. An ordinance requires three readings before it can be approved.
