Unidentified woman found unconscious on Hwy 6

An unconscious, approximately 30-year-old woman was discovered by Coralville police officials at approximately 11:07 p.m. June 13, lying along the south side of Highway 6 just east of Deer Creek Road.

According to a Coralville police press release, upon initial examination, the woman appeared unconscious and without a pulse. The woman was revived and taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

The woman communicated her name, but no identification was found upon her person, and her identity had not been verified as of June 14. According to the release, the woman said she had been assaulted and dumped on the side of the road.

According to the release, information has come to light that there may have been a male walking west on the north side of Highway 6 near Lowe’s shortly before the woman was found. Anyone who has information is encouraged to contact the Coralville police.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.
