The Iowa City City Council adopted an ordinance Tuesday raising the city’s storm-water utility fee.
Single-family residences would see a 50-cent increase, and multifamily residences would see a 25-cent increase.
Additionally, the nonresidential rate will increase 50 cents for the base rate and 25 cents for the multiplying equivalent residential unit rate per month.
This is the second storm-water fee hike since June 2004.
The council approved the ordinance on a 7-0 vote.
