Iowa City city councilors will vote April 17 on the final consideration of an ordinance increasing storm-water utility fees.

Single-family residences would see a 50-cent increase per month, and multifamily residences would see a 25-cent increase.

According to the proposal, this would be the second storm-water fee increase since the Public Works Department established the fee in June 2004.

Councilors unanimously approved the first and second considerations, and they will likely pass the ordinance on April 17.
