University of Iowa Democrats President Nathan Fiala has been charged with possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
According to the Iowa City police blotter, Fiala, 22, from Swisher, Iowa, was charged Monday.
The UI senior had not returned a call from The Daily Iowan as of Monday night.
Possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle is considered a simple misdemeanor.
