Trial set for Arkansas man charged with sexual abuse

The trial has been reset for an Arkansas man charged with second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, according to court documents.

Travis Lee Porter, 44, was arrested on Dec. 14, 2009 and charged with abusing a Johnson County girl for several years. According to reports, Porter abused the girl when she was 6 or 8 years old until she was 12. Porter currently lives in Norfork, Ariz.

Second-degree sexual abuse is a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.

Porter’s attorney requested last month to continue the trial to accommodate a defense witness who will be available for trial in June.

The pretrial conference is set for June 15 and the trial is set to begin June 26.
