Cedar Rapids man was charged with assault causing bodily harm

A Cedar Rapids man was charged with assault causing bodily injury.

According to an Iowa City police complaint, Travis Clark, 27, was charged March 3 with assault causing bodily injury. Clark and the victim were driving when Clark allegedly started driving recklessly and pushed the victim’s head into the dashboard, the complaint said.

Clark also reportedly sent the victim a text saying he would "make this as painful as possible" and another that said "I’ll show you pain," according to a complaint.

Assault causing bodily injury is a serious misdemeanor and is punishable of up to one year in jail and a maximum fine of $1,875.
