Iowa City man charged with domestic abuse assault

An Iowa City man has been charged with domestic-abuse assault without intent causing injury.

Bruce Robinson, 38, 10 Arbury Drive, allegedly forced his way through the bathroom door in his home where his wife was hiding on Jan. 31. According to an Iowa City police report, the woman’s left arm was wedged between the door and an iron on the floor, which caused pain and redness around the elbow.

The victim also had slight bruising on her arm, the report said.

Domestic-abuse assault without intent causing injury is a serious misdemeanor, punishable by up to one year in jail and a maximum fine of $1,875.
