The Iowa City City Council approved two future public hearings regarding the East Side Recycling Center.
Officials at the Recycling Center, 2401 Scott Blvd., intend to enter into leases with the Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity and the Friends of Historic Preservation Salvage Barn.
Each lease, which has already been drafted by the Recycling Coordinator, is for a 10-year period.
The public hearings will be held at the City Council’s regular formal meeting Feb. 21.
