Baby-sitter charged with possession of heroin

An Iowa City woman was charged Sept. 15 after she was allegedly found in possession of drugs while baby-sitting.

According to a complaint by Iowa City police, officers were called to 4802 Dolphin Lake Point Enclave for a report of a subject using heroin in the presence of children.

The complaint said Kimberly Robinson, 45, was found alone at the residence. She allegedly admitted to officers that she was there to baby-sit, but she had taken the children to the neighbor’s residence.

The complaint said officers conducted a consent search of the residence and located a bag in the upstairs bathroom that contained numerous needles, spoons with residue, and other drug paraphernalia. Robinson allegedly denied ownership until an officer located Robinson’s work ID in the bag, according to the complaint.

Robinson then allegedly admitted ownership of the items but allegedly said the residue was from crushed up pills she got from old ladies, the complaint said.

The complaint also said the items seized were sent to a lab where they were shown to contain residue from heroin and methamphetamine.

Robinson is charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance, an aggravated misdemeanor.
