The Iowa City City Council voted to approve the appointment of Matthew J. Uttermark as the University of Iowa Student Government student liaison in a 7-0 vote Tuesday.
Uttermark served as the liaison after former liaison Raj Patel stepped down to run for City Council.
As liaison, Uttermark will represent the concerns and opinions of UI students. The liaison is a non-voting member of the council.
