Man charged after allegedly hiding marijuana in rectum

An Iowa City man was charged Nov. 5 with possession of a controlled substance and possession of contraband in a correctional facility after he allegedly hid marijuana in his rectum.

Christopher Williams, 22, was arrested Nov. 5 in conjunction with an Oct. 28 complaint, which alleged he borrowed a woman’s car to go to Chicago for a family emergency and ignored her attempts to contact him.

The complaint said Williams received a call from the car’s owner, stated he had been in an accident and couldn’t return the car, and hung up the phone, ignoring her further attempts to contact him.

The car’s owner then reported it stolen, and it was located in Chicago with Williams inside, the complaint said.

The complaint said Williams was arrested and charged Nov. 5 with operating a vehicle without consent, an aggravated misdemeanor. At the time of the arrest, Williams was allegedly found in possession of marijuana.

While Williams was being booked at the Johnson County Jail, a search of his person located another amount of marijuana located in his rectum. Williams was charged with possession of contraband in a correctional facility, a Class-D felony.
