IC man charged after alleged attack

Iowa City police charged a local man after he allegedly attacked a man after knocking on his door.

Andy Anderson, 38, 434 Peterson St., was charged Sept. 21 with first-degree burglary.

According to a complaint, Anderson and another have an "on-going issue" and have fought before.

The report said, on Sept. 13, Anderson knocked on the man’s door. When the man opened the door, Anderson allegedly attacked him.

The report said there were accomplices with Anderson, but the man could not identify them.

The report said the man was hit in the eye with an object that required surgery to repair and suffered a small facial fracture during the encounter.

The report said Anderson admitted hitting the man, and police reportedly found Anderson’s bloody and ripped shirt on the floor of the man’s apartment.
