Coralville woman charged with 3rd OWI

A Coralville woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after she allegedly got into the wrong car after coming out of the Eighth St. Hy-Vee while intoxicated.

According to a complaint by Coralville police, officers were dispatched to the location after they received a report of two subjects fighting outside the store, one of whom was 30-year-old Billie Jane Walovich.

Walovich allegedly drove to the Hy-Vee in her mother’s car, parked it, and went inside to buy a pack of cigarettes. Upon exiting the building, she allegedly entered the wrong vehicle, which led to an altercation with the owner of that vehicle.

The complaint said Walovich admitted to drinking and driving and consented to a breath test, with a result of .195 blood alcohol content. She allegedly refused standard field sobriety tests.

Walovich is charged with third-offense OWI, a Class-D felony.
