An Iowa City woman was charged with robbery Aug. 19 after she allegedly shoplifted from Gordmans.
Ophelia Clemons, 47, 1053 Cross Park Ave. Apt. A, was charged Aug. 19 with second-degree robbery.
According to a complaint from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to Gordmans in Coralville on Aug. 19 after store security reported seeing Clemons conceal perfume in her purse.
Store security allegedly confronted the woman, and in response, she shoved store security and tried to escape. Clemons supposedly admitted, under Miranda, that she knew he was store security and tried to escape anyway.
