Police: Man pulled butcher knife during altercation

A local man was arrested after he allegedly swung a butcher knife at a man.

Francisco Nunez, 32, 431 Dakota Trail, was charged June 19 with going armed with intent and willful injury causing serious injury.

Officers responded to a Hollywood Boulevard address around 8:20 p.m., after witnesses told police they saw Nunez exit his sister’s house with a kitchen butcher knife and attack a man. The man told police he was also punched in the face, and Nunez had swung the knife at him, reports said.

Nunez allegedly fled after assaulting the victim, who suffered a broken eye socket and required stitches to his eye.

Willful injury causing serious injury is a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.
