IC police arrest Hiawatha woman for assault

Iowa City police arrested a Hiawatha, Iowa, woman after she allegedly assaulted another woman.

According to complaints, Brogan assaulted a woman who requested several times that Brogan leave her house.

After being asked to leave the Iowa Avenue residence, complaints said Brogan became angry and attacked the woman.

According to the report, numerous witnesses said Brogan attacked the woman from behind, pulled her hair, punched her face, and continued attacking until other people pulled her away. Police said the woman suffered a cut lip requiring stitches.

Officers said Brogan admitted to complying with the victim’s demands only after the assault.

Assault causing bodily injury is a serious misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and a maximum fine of $1,875.
