The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital received a $10 million donation to advance pediatric medicine.
Jerre and Mary Joy Stead, of Scottsdale, Ariz., will create two endowed faculty positions,, create a competitive research award fund, support services to benefit patients and families, and create a leadership award.
Both donors attended the UI and are now co-heads of a major fundraising campaign for UI Health Care.
“The Steads’ gift will have a tremendous impact on the lives of children from Iowa and beyond,” said Thomas Scholz, the interim director of the Children’s Hospital.
In 2003, the Steads made a $25 million commitment to the Tippie College of Business.
